Children's Summer Reading Program

2020 cslp banner 05 orig2The Children's Summer Reading Program begins on June 16, 2020

Beaman Library Children’s Room will do our best to make this summer reading program fun, interactive, and enticing even if we may be doing this a bit differently this year. We are still looking forward to having a great time with this theme, "Imagine Your Story": Fairy Tales, Mythology and Fantasy. We can only imagine how our stories have changed!

We are currently offering curbside pickup of holds placed on items owned by Beaman Memorial Public Library. You may include any books, audiobooks or magazines checked out at our library in your summer reading log, in addition to those you read or listen to via the Library's digitial resources. Register by clicking here.

We're Virtual and Live This Summer!

We have lots of virtual and live programs going on. Keep a watch on the Library Calendar to see what's coming up, and how to register. And visit our Children Room's Facebook Page where many of the programs are being held.

Play Beaman Bingo CR bingo card

Complete squares on the Children's Summer Bingo Card for a chance to win extra prizes at the end of the summer! When you have completed 5 in a "row", send an email to: sbarakian@cwmars.org, listing what you did, your name and your email. Each combination (row) can only be used once. There will be links on the Children’s page of our Beaman Library website to help you fill in your BINGO board.

Making donations to the Summer Reading Program

Summer is the most exciting time for our younger patrons. Every summer kids see the array of various prizes that our generous patrons have donated and the kids read extensively in hopes of winning their coveted prize. Now that we are in a "new normal" situation, sadly, we will not be lining our bookshelves with these various prizes and filling out the tickets for chances to win. At the end of the summer, we have chosen to draw names from the kids that read, and the lucky winners will receive a gift certificate to a local store of their choice. Highest readers will be receiving special recognition for their accomplishments and a larger gift card. That said, we are requesting people that wish to make donations, to donate to the Friends of the Beaman Library through PayPal.

With sincere thanks,

Sue Smith
Head of Children’s Services
