Reserve Policy

Any person with a valid West Boylston library card can place a reserve on library items. Reserves will be accepted by phone or in-person. Reserves are not accepted on video-cassettes.

Patrons will receive a call when the item is available for them to pick-up. The item will be held for three business days. If the item is not picked up within this period, the item will go to the next person on the reserve list and their name will be dropped from the list.

If a person decides not to accept a reserved item, or the patron cannot be contacted, the patron's name will be moved down one place on the reserve list. If there are no other people waiting for the item, it will be returned to the shelf.

When a patron has decided they are no longer interested in obtaining a reserve item, a call notifying the library staff of this change is greatly appreciated. Thus, the patron's name may be removed from the list and the next person waiting can receive the item sooner.
