Any patron with a valid patron card from the Beaman Library may place a reserve on any circulating library item.
Reserves will be accepted by phone, in-person or through a patron-placed reserve in the library catalog.
Items may not be booked or reserved for a specific time. All reserves are accepted and processed on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Patrons will receive a call from the library notifying them when an item is available for pick-up. The item will be held for three business days. If the item is not picked within three days, it will be moved to the next person on the reserve list, and the original patron's name will be removed from the reserve list.
If a patron decides not to accept a reserved item at the time they are notified OR if the patron cannot be contacted, the patron's name will be moved to the bottom of the list. If there are no other patrons waiting for the item, it will be returned to the shelf.
The library greatly appreciates patron calls to notify us that a reserve is no longer needed. We can then more quickly process get the item for the next patron on the list
