Director's WelcomeWelcome to the Beaman Memorial Public Library’s Web site. Your library provides a vast array of services and materials serving members of the community from birth to senior citizens. We provide books, magazines, audiobooks, videos, museum passes, story times, and programs of interest to all ages as well as meeting space for cultural and civic organizations. We are a member of the Central/Western Massachusetts Area Resource Sharing (C/W MARS) network, a cooperative of over 170 libraries located in the central and western parts of our state. Our participation in this network enables our patrons to enjoy borrowing materials from the other member libraries with these materials delivered to us on a daily basis, ensuring prompt receipt of your requested items. Over the years we have made great strides in technological advancement. Remote access to our online services is made available through our Web page. Patrons can access multiple reference and research databases, view our calendar, check our holdings in C/W MARS and request services such as Discovery Kits and Inter-library Loan. Our greatest goal is to provide access for patrons to their accounts over the Internet. We will pursue the necessary funding for the software upgrades needed to make this happen. This upgrade, though costly, will greatly expand the possibilities for our community. I hope you enjoy your virtual and actual visits to the Beaman Memorial Public Library and look forward to serving your educational, cultural and recreational needs. Please forward comments and suggestions to me via email to or contact via telephone at 508-835-3711. Regards, Louise N. Howland |
